Summer of Colour Week 3: 1 purple + 1 purple + 1 yellow

June 28th 2015

Wow what great colours for this week's Summer of Colour!!!! I love purple - any shade!!

I went bright yellow and 2 bright shades of purple and made my background with acrylic paint and a credit card - always love the effect of dragging the paint across the page! Painted a piece of muslin cloth yellow as well. Added a gorgeous birdcage charm & some sticky mesh. Stamped image coloured with Copic Markers.

Stamped image is one of the licensed Jasmine Becket- Griffith stamps by JessicaLynnOriginal - "Red Maple Fairy". The flower stamp is from JLO as well but LOL I forgot the other side of the page had some pearls on it so I couldn't get a "flat" surface to stamp - oh well I still like the effect and I added some painted circles and swiped colour over the stamped gal too to blend it all in together.

JesssicaLynnOriginal "True Love" Stamp Set Release & Blog Hop!

June 27th 2015
Love is in the air!!

Celebrate all things love with this versatile clear stamp set from JessicaLynnOriginal. Perfect for Weddings, Valentine’s Day, Sweetest Day or just showing that special someone you are thinking about them, this set is great alone or used with other sets. The phrasing and butterflies will fit in the banner or use your imagination!

I've made a few creations for this new release Blog Hop - firstly some pastel coloured tags - I love making tag art and the stamps from this set were perfect! I used stencils made on my Silhouette to add the Gesso layer to the back of the tag and Gelatos over the top - just beautiful colouring!Images were stamped directly onto the tags. something quick and easy you can try. I added dyed ribbon to the tops.

Next I have made a Pocket Letter - this is the first one I have ever made and of course the theme is "Love" - just perfect for this hop! I actually used stamps from 3 different JessicaLynnOriginal Stamp Sets to show you how easy it is to mix & match.

Stamp Sets Used:
True love
Happy Valentines Day I Love You
Mason Jar DIY Crafting & Creating

I made the background card myself with stamps from the new True Love Set plus a great JLO Flower Stamps with acrylic paints and stencils. Why buy patterned paper when you can use your stamp sets and get great value for money?

Here are close up pictures of each row of my pocket letter - as you can see I have combined stamps coloured with Copic markers, cut outs from my Silhouette, washi tape, charms, fabric etc.:

Inspiration Wednesday Week 10

June 25th 2015

Another fabulous IW Lesson with Donna Downey! I love working with bits & pieces on hand and this collage style background was a perfect way to use up things I can't bear to throw away LOL!

I like the basic black & white theme plus I used a bit of cream paint on the top half as well. Really love how this turned out. Great to be trying more things out of the comfort zone!

Add some Pearls or Gems......

June 24th 2015

A cute and fun challenge at Wicked Wednesday this week - we want to see pearls and/or gems on your ATC! Mine is very simple - I have one little gem on this gorgeous gal's choker!! PPinky Dolls are our sponsor - they have the most beautiful images - this is the first time I have used an image from PPinky and I was a little scared to try colouring so I decided to pull out my chalks and little eye makeup applicators and colour her that way - I sprayed the ATC with sealer and then added the gem. I really didn't want to add anything else - I just love this the way it is!

Took a few pics - wasn't sure which showed the colours better!!

VOO DOO.........

June 23rd 2015
OMG when I saw these "King & Queen" Voo Doo images I just had to have them both to create with!!!! They are new releases at the SLS Lines Store - grab them and get creating!!!!

Any excuse to create something a bit darker than usual!!!!! These images are so detailed and so much fun to colour - I've used Copic Markers.

I used ink sprays on the backgrounds and let them dribble down the page, plus some texture stamps. I made the wording on the Silhouette and cut out. Couldn't help adding red ink to all the scraps of muslin fabric to make it even more gorey!!! LOL I had the Couture Creations feather diecut - unopened/unused - so cut a few feathers which tied in with the feathers on both the King & Queen's hats. Glued everything down and absolutely LOVE the resulting pages!!!!

Make sure you check out the SLS Lines Blog for more DT inspiration with all the new release images for this month along with our current challenge details!

And I am also going to enter this over at the Smudgy Antics Blog for their Anything Goes with a Twist of using 3 colours - basically I have only used grey, red & green on my pages!! Also joining at the Forever Dark Challenge Blog too! And one more to join - the Dream in Darkness Blog - this Voo Doo King & Queen Set are perfect for all these dark challenge blogs!!!!!

Cascading.......

June 22nd 2015

I just love this cascading card I made using instructions at the Splitcoast Stampers Site - a cad design I hadn't tried before!

I did a simple pictorial for the Tsunami Rose Blog with a basic idea of how I put the card together with the gorgeous "Petticoat Ephemera" Journal Paper Pack available at the Tsunami Rose Etsy Store.

I used several elements from the pack - pages, cut out images, tags, quotes - just so many different items in the pack it's hard to choose just a few to make the card!!! If you love vintage style and making journals, cards, pocket letters you really must check out the store!

Celebrate Your Strength......

June 20th 2015
I just love this "Fighter Gwen" digi from Some Odd Girl - a nice strong woman image!!!!

I made this card for a challenge at the Some Odd Girl FB Group - such fun to create with this image and I had fun colouring her! Patterned papers are from the "Artfanicus" Etsy Store.

I won a prize at the FB Group so got to order some real stamps but just have to wait for them to make their way all the way here Down Under - LOL patience required!!!!!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!!!

Metallic/Shiny ATC Trade!

June 19th 2015

These ATC's were made for another fun trade at the Stampotique FB Group - theme was Shiny or Metallic! I ran some ordinary alfoil through my Big Kick in a star embossing powder and added some alcohol inks for a bit of colour. Just love the gorgeous Stampotique stamp with wings added from another Stampotique Stamp - love to combine stamps LOL!!! They have made their way overseas to their new homes!

Summer of Colour Week 2: pink + pink + orange

June 18th 2015

Wow do I ever love this week's Summer of Colour combo of 1 pink + 1 pink + 1 orange - fabulous colours to play with!!

And here's my little journal page I made with paint - a light pink, a metallic rose pink and orange. I stamped a fabulous JessicaLynnOriginal "Jasmine Becket-Griffith" Stamp over the page and used a pink "Smooch" to highlight her lips, eyes and parts of the butterflies.

Very happy with how this turned out!

Red = Risque.......

June 17th 2015

Love this new theme at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog - "Seeing Red" - who doesn't love to create with RED!!! and a fabulous sponsor - SLS Lines - of course I love these images as I'm on the DT at SLS Lines! This is one of my favourite images so I couldn't resist making my ATC with this one - perfect in red! Hope you can join us this week with your ATC's!

Exotic....

June 16th 2015

A journal page made for a Sweet Pea Progressive Challenge at the FB Group a little while ago! The elephant image was the freebie from entering part 1 of the challenge and I couldn't resist teaming it with one of the new rubber stamps I bought from Sweet Pea - Ching Choi Kuik's Golden Promises - a perfect match for the style of my page!

Background done with stencils and acrylic paints. I printed the elephant image multiple times on tissue paper and then added to the page with gel medium. I love the colours and the stamped image on this page.

Dream Always......

June 15th 2015

Sharing another of my Inspiration Wednesday creations (this is Week 8) - I am so loving these lessons by Donna Downey - great to be out of the comfort zone and great to be using some things I have had in my stash for quite some time and never been opened like these chipboard letters LOL!!!

I love this page - like the darker style colours I have used and the overall affect. I've done this as a single page as opposed to normally working in my smaller journal and doing double page spreads. Loved working on the bigger page for this style and the big letters. I look forward to each fortnightly Wednesday for the new lessons - always feel so inspired and creative after watching the videos!

Brentwood Gets "Lost in Space"...............

June 13th 2015

Wow do I have a fabulous new set of stamps to show you from JessicaLynnOriginal!!!! A fabulous "1950's Brentwood Owl UFO" Set of stamps - soooo much fun to create with as you will see above and below I couldn't help myself but make lots of different things!!

Above is my ICAD "title" card for 2015 - I painted the card black and added the ICAD 2015 stamped on ink sprayed card and cut out - Brentwood was also coloured and cut out from card. The "UFO" I embossed with white embossing powder direct to the card background and to finish I printed out the "Lost in Space" wording and adhered to the index card - just love how this turned out!

My next creation above is two bookmarks I have done for a swap I am in - theme of "Movies" and how could I resist doing "Lost In Space" - it was one of my favourite TV shows when I was young and still love to watch it and the remake movie wasn't bad - I like Sci-Fi. The yellow backing of the bookmarks is a very thick vellum type paper and I cut the top black layer on my Silhouette. Added the spaceship & Brentwood astronaut to the front with the computer generated wording and some ribbon & twine to the top.

I just couldn't resist stamping the envelopes as well to post the bookmarks in - front & back shown above - just basic stamping but still decorates the envie for the receiver!

And my final creation is this journal page just for a bit of fun "OMG I said beam ME up Scottie not the bloody cow!" I have embossed gold stars in the background and black paint, added some sticky mesh, ink sprayed muslin and then the wording and the 2 stamped and coloured images from the set - just love this one!!

So if you head over to the JLO Blog and leave a comment you might win a prize and you can also get links to the rest of the DT and check out their amazing creations with this brand new set of stamps!!!!

EEEK!!!!

OMG I just love this goth guy & his party balloon and missing teeth!!!!! You can grab him "here" at the store!!! Card base and the "Eeek!" wording are Silhouette Files and were just perfect for the "look" I wanted with this card for the challenge! Can't wait to see your creations!!
