Red & Black Halloween

September 30th 2013
We are seeing a few Halloween creations around the blog world getting ready for next month so I am sharing my black & red cards using new release products from Gecko Galz in preparation for the haunting season!!!

Both cards use new release digital stamp images from the "Spellbound Stamps Set" and papers from the "Vampire's Ball" digital paper set. I always love the look of black & red and I love lots of layers so I used several of the papers, distressed the edges, mounted them on black card and piled them on top of each other LOL!!

There are lots of collage sheets this month with Halloween themed images so why not drop by the store and grab yourself some and get creating!!!

Wish Upon a Star...

September 28th 2013
Time for my reminder post for our "Retro/Vintage" theme at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog. For this ATC I used this great image by Angie Delarie "Felicity" - i just love this gorgeous gal with her vintage style clothing. I used similar papers from Gecko Galz as my first Retro/Vintage ATC which I posted on Wednesday.

And like my ATC from Wednesday I couldn't resist making this into a card as well!

Lizzy and her Dragons

September 26th 2013
Sharing a card made with another new image from Maigan Lynn available at the Queen Kat Designs Store - "Lizzy" - I always love the looooong eyelashes Maigan adds to her her images!

Image was printed on watercolour paper, coloured with watercolour pencils then washed over with a wet paint brush. I covered the entire image with Ranger Clear Crackle Medium and sponged some distress ink over it. I printed one of the little dragon a bit larger to add some dimension to the card along with some mesh, muslin & gorgeous orange glitter behind the work "Celebrate"!

Anyone Got a Light?

September 25th 2013
It's Wednesday again and time for our new challenge at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog - this week our theme is "Retro/Vintage" and a great sponsor - Kenny K!

My ATC uses one of our sponsors designs - I love the look of this swinging gal! She has been coloured with Copic Markers, patterned papers are from Gecko Galz and I added a few little embellishments to finish off!

I couldn't resist making this ATC into a Birthday card so I used up the scraps of paper, added some more embellishments LOL - and here's the finished product!

New Designs from Maigan Lynn!

September 19th 2013
I am so lucky for the next few weeks to be working with some new images from Maigan Lynn - available at the Queen Kat Designs Store! Make sure you visit the QKD Blog for more new release designs used in creations by the DT.

The images below are "Lost Love" & "Winged Shoes" - perfect for making some Halloween themed cards!

I printed the images on watercolour paper and for this card I used water colour paints to colour the image and my aim was to give it a bit of a grungey look - she looks a bit grungey with her smeared eyeshadow - but she has "lost her love" so she would be upset!! I added a little tulle curtain, lace, a charm and a bit of bling! Also with the image I painted glass beads medium all over the image for a muted type look and for some texture - quite interesting "stuff" to work with!

My next card is more Halloween style - image coloured with Copic Markers - still on the watercolour paper so the colours didn't blend as well but I like the bright look. I layered some card and patterned papers, added the die cut "wish" letters and a few other embellishments.

Both cards use digital patterned papers from Gecko Galz.

Crazy for Daisies...

September 18th 2013
A "flowery" challenge this week at Wicked Wednesday - "Crazy for Daisies" with a new sponsor "Time for Tea" who have been kind enough to provide the DT with a gorgeous image to work with and a prize for our winner! We would love to have you join us!!

Unmask Yourself!

September 17th 2013

Here is a mini journal page I made for one of my Gecko Galz creations with a new image from collage sheets released for September I just loved the colours if the feathered mask so I tried to make the background the same rich colours. I added some real feathers and some spots of silver glitter.

Make sure you check out all the new release collage sheets, digital stamp set & digital paper set for this month!

Boy oh Boy reminder

September 14th 2013

My ATC for today uses a great "boy" image from Michelle Perkett - Michelle has lots of gorgeous images available at her Etsy Store!

Mini Dancer...

September 12th 2013
Today I am sharing another mini journal page I have decorated using this gorgeous "Bearly a Ballerina" image from Sandra Caldwell available from the Queen Kat Designs Store.

Background has been made similarly to the July Calendar Journal pages I shared a few days ago - square ink pads applied directly to the page and as these did not seem to want to dry I coated the entire page with sparkly embossing powder and heat embossed it to seal it all - and I do love the effect! You can see the bit of sparkle in the pictures. My little ballerina has been coloured with Copics, fussy cut and adhered to the page along with some die cut ballerina slippers!

I am entering my page in the September Challenge at the Sparkle and Sprinkle Creative Challenges Blog - theme is "Anything Goes with Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking" and as I have embossed the whole background page with glittery & gold powder I think this will qualify!!

Boy Oh Boy...

September 11th 2013
Time again for a new challenge at Wicked Wednesday - the theme is "Boy Oh Boy" - we all know it can be harder to create for the "boys"! We are happy to have Jellypark as our sponsor so be sure to enter for you chance to win! I love this little pirate boy - he's having a great time!

For more inspiration be sure to visit the blog and see what the rest of the DT have created this week!

July Calendar Pages

September 9th 2013
Well I am a few months behind with my Calendar Journal pages for The Kathryn Wheel so I am madly trying to catch up!

I just love these pages! I used a gorgeous image from Michelle Perkett and I know some of you will wonder about a wintery looking July but I live in Australia and July means Winter LOL!!

Image is coloured with Copic Markers and a bit of liquid applique added to the hats and snowball. Background was inked with my very old Artnic cubes and whatever other little square ink pots I had sitting around - I can't tell you how old some of these were and some disintegrated whilst I was using them on these pages but I love the effect and it was a great way to "use" some of them up and then throw them away!

I stamped a Dylusions stamp border at the top & bottom of each page and smudged a bit of red ink on each corner. Numbers were stamped on and I outlined some of the ink stamped boxes to make the days of the month.

Now I really need to get August & September pages done!!

Cheers!

I just love these new owl images from the new release Gecko Galz "Owling for You" collage sheets available now at the store! Leanne has relased some great collage sheets, digital stamps and fabulous digital paper in preparation for Halloween next month so make sure you check out the website.

Both cards use a collage image from the "Owling for You" sheets along with papers from the previously released "Steampunk" set of digital papers - I thought the colours of the papers were perfect for the images.

I distressed the paper edges for a more rustic look and added a feather and some  typewriter style "who" letters to each card.
