I'm Not Mad!

September 30th 2011

This is my new Octopode Creation using Lily's Salvador Dali image. The new theme at the Octopode Factory Challenge Blog  is "Men".

I've created a bookmark and used some leftover watercolour pencil background card which I have overstamped with various images and then added Salvador and one of his quotes:

The only difference
between me and
a madman
is that I'm not mad.

I made a birthday card for my sister awhile ago (click here to view it) and now she will also get this bookmark - LOL she saw the card on my blog last time so fingers crossed she doesn't "visit" again for a few days!!!

Dress Form ATC's

September 28th 2011

I made these 3 ATC's using 3 Dress Form images from Gecko Galz for the Oh La La Group at Bella Creations. I don't make a lot of ATC's any more but I really enjoyed these - I do love the Dress Form images!

I've used some rubber stamps from a Paper Artsy set I've had for quite a while - I've really been getting into my rubber stamps lately - which is a good thing as I have had some for quite some time and they have never been used!!!!!! Anyone else out there the same as me??????

I've used my Distress Inks to stamp the images and backgrounds and added some muslin to the "skirts" of the Dress Forms as well as some sewing "elements".

More Autumn Inspiration

September 26th 2011

Here is some more inspiration for you for our "Autumn/Fall" Theme at Art with no Boundaries for this week. We would love to see your creations for this great time of the year!

I've made this card using a new "October Verse" sentiment from Chris at CS Designs. I've added some Spellbinder die cut flowers, leaves & swirls all in Autumn colourings from a 6 x 6 Basic Grey Pad titled "Pyrus" - I think the colours are perfect for this theme!

Make sure you link your inspiration to our linky tool so we can visit and leave you a comment!

Vintage Stamping

September 25th 2011
One of my favourite "themes" to work with is Vintage and the new challenge at the Fashionable Stamping Challenges Blog is Vintage!

I made this card recently to try out a new stamping technique "Embedded Image" which can be found at the Splitcoast Stampers Site. I haven't done a lot of actual rubber stamping lately so it was great fun to dig through all my supplies and get inky and embossed fingers!!

Everything on my card is rubberstamped - the background has been stamped and sponged with distress inks, the "think happy thoughts" and "Dream Lady" are from a Paper Artsy set I have had for years. I've added a little beaded pin, some tea dyed muslin and a paper flower and brad.

Here's a close up photo of the actual embedded image part of my card which has a swirl stamp for the embedded image:

I Love Pink Saturday!

September 24th 2011

Well yet again I'm sharing a creation made especially for Pink Saturday! I think Pink Saturday is my favourite day of the week!

This week I've used the same Pink Attitude sentiment from Chris at CS Designs that I used on my pink card last week - but Chris made it especially for when I was the Featured Blog on Pink Saturday and I just love creating with it!

I've made a little fabric tag using the sentiment as the main focal point and I've added a fabric butterfly, a little pink rose and a gorgeous "pin" I've added beads to. I used embroidery thread to blanket stitch the edge and make a little "tassle".

I hope you like my tag and I hope you all have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

I've also entered my little tag at the new Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Challenge this week as their challenge is to use your favourite colour and guess what? My favourite colour is PINK!!!

Autumn & Lace

September 21st 2011

I've just made this little fabric hanging for June's Spot Prize Challenge for September at the Dezinaworld Blog. As you can see from the title of the post the theme is "Autumn & Lace" - perfect for the Northern Hemisphere but LOL it's Spring here in the land Down Under!!!!

I've used some gorgeous images from Dezinaworld to make this hanging - June has realeased a gorgeous set of Autumn images which are just perfect for this theme and of course I couldn't resist and just had to buy them! I've added some old lace and little beads to finish the piece off and the butterflies are also from Dezinaworld. And I did some fancy stitching with my sewing machine down the sides!

I added the little butterfly quote found at the Quote Garden Site.

Love is like a butterfly
It goes where it pleases
And pleases where it goes.

I've also linked this up to Cindy's Shabby Chic Girls Club "Oh La La Link Party"!

New Challenge Theme is "Autumn"

September 19th 2011

The new theme at Art With No Boundaries this week is "Autumn/Fall" - so anything to do with this time of the year is acceptable - Autumn Colours, Autumn Themes etc.! We can't wait to see what you create. Please add your creation to our Linky Tool so we can visit and be inspired!

I've made this Autumn coloured card using one of the Babushka designs from CS Designs! Chris has some fantastic new sentiments that are perfect for this "theme" and I'll have some creations with these later in the week!

The flower and swirls are die cuts from a Spellbinder Flower Creation Set - these are great and a lot of fun to create with!

Pile it On Challenge Blog also have a "Fall" Themed challenge so I am entering my card in their challenge too!

A Little Cup of Friendship

September 18th 2011

The new Chestnut Theme Challenge at Gingersnap Creations is "Gal Pals" so I've made some little "tea bag" holders.  I think having a "cuppa" & a "chat" with your "gal pal" is what "friendship" is about! Or if you can't be with your pal then I've made a little holder with the following quote:

A little cup of friendship
With a bag of tea
When you drink this
Think of love from me.

I've used images from Lisa's Altered Art on the fronts of the holders as well as lace, fringe, tulle & flower embellishments. Inside I've added litle "tea" related quotes and wording. I've even "substituted" the little "dangly" bit with my own matching card for each tea bag in the holder!

I've Got Attitude!

September 17th 2011

Happy Pink Saturday again! Can't wait to visit some "Pink" Blogs this week!

For this week's Pink Saturday creation I've made a card using one of the "Arty Expression" designs from CS Designs - these designs are great to work with!!! I've coloured her with Copic Markers and mounted her on yellow and black card.

The background is similar to one I posted a week ago which I made with watercolour paper and watercolour pencils - I really like this nice bright effect! The "Pink" Sentiment is also from CS Designs and is a great one for Pink Saturday and I printed this directly onto the background paper! I've added a bit of sparkle in the top corner.

Wishing you all a great day!

Tag Tuesday - Flower Pot

September 15th 2011

The new theme for Tag Tuesday is "Flower Pot"! I've made this little tag using some collage sheets from Paper Imagery Designs. I used a base card of metallic blue and stamped over it using white ink with a "marble look" stamp I've had for ages - I quite like the effect of this stamp - think I will have to "play" with it some more!!

I've added a little baby sitting in a pot and surrounded him with bright yellow daisies and a "Best Wishes" greeting and have added some fibres to the top!

Fashionable Tag

September 14th 2011

The new challenge at the Fashionable Stamping Challenge Blog is to make a "Tag". And the rules are no digis and only rubber stamps allowed so I delved into my cupboard and found the "dress form" stamp I have used on my tag - company unknown as I purchased it so long ago and didn't make a record - so if anyone can help me out with the manufacturer I would appreciate it!!!! The little "think happy thoughts" sentiment is from a Paper Artsy set I have had for quite some time as well. I really enjoyed making a rubber stamped creation for a change - great to get "inky" fingers!!!

Anything Goes at "Art with no Boundaries"

September 12th 2011

It's the second week of our fornightly challenge at Art with no Boundaries and I've made another card for some more "inspiration"!

I've used several of the new Asian Squares from Chris at CS Designs to make this card. I made the background with watercolour paper and watercolour pencils - I love the soft effect. I printed the images and Japanese Proverb directly onto the background paper and for dimension added a mounted image.

Hope you like it! Please stop by and add your link at our challenge blog - we would love to visit!

Surrealism is Destructive...

September 10th 2011

This is my card for the new Octopode Factory Challenge "Quotes". As you can see I've used Lily's Salvador Dali image and have added a quote by Salvador himself.

My sister is a Salvador Dali fan and as her birthday is coming up I made this especially for her - LOL I hope she doesn't visit my blog!!!!

I made the background with wastercolour pencils and stamped flourishes and spots over it. The images were coloured with Copic Markers and have been stuck on muslin and then onto the background along with a couple of skeleton leaves. I'm really happy with the purple & green colours!

All Sewn Up!

September 10th 2011

This "Machine Sewn" card has been made for several "occasions" - firstly I made sure pink was the dominant colour as today is Pink Saturday! I used the new sketch from Sketch & Stash to "arrange" my card. This cute little image is from Dilly Bean Stamps - isn't she gorgeous?

I also used Basic Grey patterned papers and a "Birthday" die cut to enter the new Basic Grey Challenge. The papers are from my 6 x 6 pad  "Out of Print" which also suits the new Altered Alice Theme which is "Text as Nonsense" !!! I think the little Dilly Bean girl looks a bit like Alice with her Blonde hair and blue eyes!

Hope you all have a great Pink Saturday!

A Dreamy Celestial Goddess

September 7th 2011

I've made this tag for Tag Tuesday this week and the theme is the "Moon" so I've used this most gorgeous "Celestial Goddess" Image from Chris at CS Designs. I haven't made anything with this beautiful goddess for awhile so when I saw the "theme" for this week I knew that she would be perfect!

I made the background card myself by using inkpads direct to the striped textured card and then printing the Celestial Goddess and "Dream a Little Dream" sentiment straight onto the card. The sentiment is also from CS Designs and is one of my favourites.

I have also used several colours of "Smooch" to highlight the stars and spots on the image and have added some jewels to her "headpiece" as well as some fibres that match my colour scheme.

The Card & Scrap Challenge Blog is having a decorated tag challenge as well so my tag has been entered over there!

Anything Goes!!

September 5th 2011

The theme for this fortnight's challenge at our NEW Art with no Boundaries Challenge Blog is "Anything Goes"!!!
So there is no excuse for you not joining in with us and sharing some inspiration! Remember you can use any images/designs you like to join the fun and you can enter any creation you like as long as you made it yourself!! So click on the link above and show us what you have made!!

I've made this bright pink, yellow & blue card using one of Chris' Expressive Hearts Designs (find them here). I've coloured the image with Copic Markers and have added lots of bright embellishments including lace, ribbon, feathers, braid, a heart "clip" and a "Best Wishes" sticker!

I made the little flower myself - I'm trying to make more flowers myself! So if anyone has any good tutorials or ideas let me know!!! Look forward to seeing your inspiration!!

I've also entered this card in the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - "The Sky's the Limit". And Crafting When We Can has an "Anything Goes" challenge too. The Creative Inspirations Challenge Blog have an "Anything Goes" theme for their final challenge. The I Did It Creations Blog have a "Girly Girlz" challenge and my card is certainly "girly coloured'!! And Card Makin Mamas challenge is to use a digi!

I Was Framed!

September 4th 2011
The new challenge at the Haunted Design House "Macabre Monday" is "I Was Framed!" And as the sponsor this week is Dilly Beans Stamps I decided to use one of the digis I bought awhile ago and hadn't used yet!!

As you can see I've made my "Macabre Monday" card into a Macabre "Xmas" Card LOL!!! And I've used the new sketch from the Christmas Challenges (With Sketches) Blog to do the layout for my card. She's a cute but creepy image!!!!

I've added a matching pinwheel, some skeleton leaves in green & yellow and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment!
