Unconditional Love.........

February 15th 2018
Sharing two ATC's made recently for a swap at the Oddball Stamps Facebook Group.

I've used a cute puppy "Maddy" as the focus image on my ATC's - probably my most fav Odddball digi at the moment! Digis are coloured with Copics and added to mixed media backgrounds - old book pages with gesso, texture paste and ink sprays. Wording is computer printed.

You can find the whole range of Oddball Art Stamps at the Etsy Store - check them out - too much fun - love the whimsical and quirky characters!

Birds of a Feather...

February 11th 2018

Sharing another new release digi by Vera Lane Studio "Birds of a Feather" - such a cute set!!! I seem to be colouring in autumnal tones lately which is very unusual for me but I am loving the blends! I also added some collage elements from the "Circles and Stems" sheet - the colours of the circles matched perfectly!

I used scrap bits and pieces of patterned papers and paint chip samples to add to the ink sprayed background. A bit of "doodling" along the sides to finish off!

If you are a Vera Lane Studio fan come and join us at our Facebook Group for more DT inspiration, ATC trades and lots of fun!!!

Blank Page Muse Challenge : Blue, Heart & Time....

February 9th 2018

Pop over to the Blog to check out all the wonderful creations by the rest of the team when the challenge goes live on the 10th!!!

I've created a "love" themed journal page using one of the stamps from the "Romance Classic Couples Stamp Set".

To make my background page I used strips of washi tape in various lengths which I then "washed over" with gesso. I used co-ordinating ink sprays over the page once the gesso dried. then I used some journal card by Me & My Big Ideas which fitted the love/time/blue theme!! I had the gold wire heart in my stash along with the scrap of muslin cloth below the stamped image.

I stamped the couple on white linen finish card and coloured fairly simply using Copic markers, fussy cut and adhered to the page after arranging and gluing down the other elements. Love how it turned out - perfect for the theme of the challenge!

Morbid Curiosity!

January 20th 2018

I'm up over at the NEW "Blank Page Muse" Blog (formerly Sin City Stamps) - you can see how I altered this index card with fab rubber stamps by Blank Page Muse using images from the "Oddly Appealing" set!

I made this to follow the current challenge theme at the blog "Turquoise & Silver" - fab colours to create with! We would love to see your Blank Page Muse creations in our challenge - you still have plenty of time to play along!

I too have been covered with Thorns......

A "red & white" themed mixed media journal page created for a challenge at the Gecko Galz Facebook Group & also for the Dream in Darkness challenge this month!

I'm entering this in this month's challenge at the Dream in Darkness Blog - theme of use what you already have!!! Everything on this page is old LOL!! Page background was "mop up" from excess paint/stencils - I added a muslin cloth overlay (always have this on hand in bulk!!!), red ink spray and white watercolour paint was also added to the background - more supplies I have had for ages!! Image is by Gecko Galz and is from the "Dark Arts" collage set which I already owned along with the butterflies, also by Gecko Galz, white flower I have had for years and is the last one from the pack so I've cleaned up that pack!! I love how this page turned out!

Hello Love...

January 14th 2018

Sharing a fun journal page using "Matilda" from the set by Vera Lane Studio: "Matilda's New Year" - a great quirky character set!!!

I'm entering this in the current "T is for Technique" Challenge at the fab "Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers" Blog!! I've used my favourite technique for creating a journal page background which is to use torn strips of old book pages plus recycle my stash of "saved" tissue paper!! I've alternated strips of pages with strips of patterned tissue paper. I added a thin layer of Gesso to tone down the background, added paint through a stencil and used an old credit card and small lid as mark makers on the background. Once everything was dry I added the journaling cards and fussy cut "Matilda"!! A fun page!

Make sure you check out all the new releases at the Vera Lane Etsy Store - so many quirky designs and so many more new images to come this year!!!!!!
